Skills Required to be an Effective Teacher

Some say that great teachers are born and not made. While some may disagree with it. Whatever your opinion maybe there are some essential skills every teacher needs to have. The role of a teacher does not only encompass tutoring their students but much more. Teachers are supposed to play the role of a counselor, leader, helping hand, mentor, and much more. Good teachers make a lasting difference and have a huge impact on the lives of their students.

Almost all effective teachers have some of the skills mentioned below:

Communication Skills

Having good communication skills is an important requirement in all professions similarly it is expected that a teacher should have good communication skills. Mostly good communicators are good listeners as well. The same goes for effective teachers who are good listeners also. Effective teachers are keen listeners which helps them to pinpoint the needs of students.

Ability to Connect with Students/Rapport Building

Effective teachers are warm and compassionate and try to develop a rapport with students. They try to relate to the students and understand them. They take a personal interest in students' well-being and try to develop a bond between themselves and the students. They are concerned about the students’ problems and take interest in the students’ likes, dislikes, thoughts, hobbies, etc. They try to be available when the students need them.

These are teachers who volunteer to take the responsibility for co-curricular activities along with academic responsibilities.

Positive Attitude

It is said that "your attitude, not aptitude will determine your altitude.” And it is quite true that teachers who have a positive attitude and are compassionate, fair, and interested in the well–being of the students leave a lasting impression on them at any age and stage of their profession. Like in other professions possessing a positive attitude makes quite a difference in the field of teaching as well.

Effective teachers are experts in the subjects they teach and are continuous learners. They keep themselves up to date on advancements in their subject. And enhance their knowledge by taking workshops and attending classes to learn new methodology and technology.

Have High Expectations

Effective teachers constantly encourage and praise their students, and give feedback on the students’ progress. They believe in the ability of every one of their students and help them to develop self-confidence and also believe in them. Effective teacher inspire their students to study and learn, go out of their way to make their teachers happy, and praise them. When a teacher shows high expectations from students, they try to fulfill them.

Respect Students and Do Not Make Fun of Students

Effective teachers do not embarrass students in front of their fellow students and neither alone. They respect the opinion and concerns of their students. They treat all students fairly and do not show favoritism. Effective teachers have the opinion that all students are different but need the same treatment.

Professionalism

Such teachers possess many good qualities which include being knowledgeable, kind, patient, sympathetic, and punctual. Effective teachers make learning fun and provide their students with many opportunities to learn. Effective teachers are flexible in their approach to meeting the needs of students.

They have a good relationship and are friendly with their colleagues. Nowadays, it is also important to possess technological skills.

Becoming an effective teacher requires effort, perseverance, and time. With patience, these skills can be learned and put into practice.

“Siblings: children of the same parents, each of whom is perfectly normal until they get together.” – Sam Levenson This is a quote that I believe truly reflects the feelings of siblings for each other. This month we have been assigned to write about “Love.” In our society when we hear the word love most people imagine Bollywood kind of love and images of a boy and girl dancing around trees flash in their minds. I will take this opportunity and write about love between siblings which is a very different kind of love. I believe it is a deeper, intense, and purer type of love. Some may disagree with me but I believe that there is no bond stronger than that between siblings. Although the relationship between siblings is quite complex and a paradox that has yet to be resolved, it is very beautiful and unique at the same time. Through this article, I would like to try and explore the intricacies of the bond between siblings. Siblings are the best gift that our parents give us. When we trav

Food, shopping, and fun in Dubai, why should we invest in Dubai?

Dubai is the dream destination for many, and rightly so. The tall buildings, expansive roads, and clean beaches are what everyone dreams of, also Dubai is deemed to be the safest city on earth, especially for women, making it the ideal destination for holidays or relocation for many of multiple nationalities. Making it truly one of the most multicultural cities in the world! However, living in Dubai as an expatriate is majorly different than visiting it as a tourist. There are three reasons why people should look before investing in Dubai. For the first one, one should know that food is very expensive in Dubai and you will spend a lot of money eating, which increases the cost of living. The trick is to be able to find cheap and reasonable places to eat if you’re a tourist and honestly just get a gas connection if you are deciding on staying long-term. The food is more suited for those who prefer blander flavors, it is tough finding something genuinely spicy and more suited for the “des

"Building Dreams One Book At A Time: The Kolachi Neighborhood Library

Once upon a time, in the picturesque town of Kolachi, there was a group of children who came up with a great idea. They wanted to set up a little library for themselves, a place where they could read and discover the wonders of the books. The children gathered in a circle, their faces filled with excitement. Eman, a determined girl with brown hair, said, "We can collect books from our homes for the library." The idea spread like wildfire, and soon, everyone was enthusiastic about their project. They decided to call it the " Kolachi Neighbourhood Library ."  The children went door-to-door in their neighborhood, explaining their dream of a library.
